Nirmala, a free lance creative artist, does not believe in a rigid doctrinaire approach. Her canvasses display variety and harmonious synthesis of lively and warm colors. In her earliest exhibitions, she displayed compositions ranging from knife paintings of flowers, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, to imaginative abstracts and decorative compositions in a blaze of colors. In all her exhibitions, she has drawn large appreciative audiences.
Her paintings are in the collections of Military Officers' Institutes , hospitals, clinics in India; and in private collections all over India and in the USA, Australia and Czechoslavakia.
